xdelta3: unknown secondary compressor ID: XD3_INVALID_INPUT error on xdelta when patching mkds kiosk

so xdelta is being the annoying app it is with this error, im trying to patch mario kart ds beta reloaded into the mario kart ds kiosk demo rom and its getting the error as said in the title so is there any way to stop it from saying that? i have it in the right order:

patch: MARIO KART DS BETA reloaded.xdelta
source file: Mario Kart DS (USA kiosk demo).nds
output file: mario kart ds beta reloaded.nds

please tell me if im doing something wrong or if its broken or something
